Hello All!
My name is Sharon Hunter and I designed a pocket medical journal that helps patients keep track of their medical histories. I developed this journal out of need and as a result have launched a new business.
A few years ago my husband was diagnosed with terminal colon cancer. At the time if his diagnosis I was unable to think clearly, I could only think about him dying. After I got myself together, all I could think about was ways to save his life. Although I designed the journal out of need, it was love that kept me striving to find ways to keep my husband alive. The journal helped me to communicate with his doctors. Even during those medical appointments when I was moved to tears I could refer to the information in the journal and effectively participate with his doctors. The pocket medical journal helped us to provide accurate data during those difficult times. On January 3, 2003 we lost our battle, my husband died.
After his death I decided to market this journal because it had helped us and I sincerely believed it could help others. Accurate communication can lead to improved quality care and potentially reduce the occurrence for errors. The journal is a pertinent part of any medical appointment because many times patients and those who care for them find conveying one's physical condition to practitioners challenging. The pocket medical journal empowers us to take responsibility in managing our health.
I have been selling the journal individually and in bulk. Companies and organizations have been using the journal as a promotional tool and fundraiser. It a great way to promote your company. But I also want to say this medical journal idea is great!
